The Physical Embodiment of Poetry: Literary Creatures

What is Literary Creatures?

Inspired by Cirque du Soleil and Typewriter Poetry, Literary Creatures takes street theatre, carnivalesque Broadway, and poetry to an imaginary level.

Performances feature otherworldly beings made from supernatural, animalistic, and ecological elements. Each character roams the streets as “a physical embodiment of a poem,” the body moving like poetry, the creature informed by poetics as it wordlessly interacts with the alien world around it.

An enchanting blend of elegant, expressive movement and miming, sophisticated costuming, theatrical make-up, live sound effects, and bright, colorful performances help Literary Creatures bring poetry to life.
